Global Citizenship Challenge Brief

As part of the Out of the Shadows project, we collaborated with WJEC/CBAC (the Welsh Exam Board) to organise events in various schools. We identified the Global Citizenship Challenge of the Welsh Baccalaureate as an area in which the project could make a contribution. Out teachers' event in July 2018 aimed precisely at involving teachers working on the Global Citizenship challenge, as well as History and Politics teachers.

As part of the project we agreed with Sara Davies (KS4 National Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate Officer) that we would develop a brief for students to work on as part of their Baccalaureate.

The brief we developed asks students to assess the domestic politics and foreign policy implications of the use of drones by both states and private actors. WJEC/CBAC has approved the brief and it is now available to students. It can be found on-line here, under AGA13:

The project is funded by a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award

It aims at establishing a network of ECRs researching covert action in US and UK history and at engaging secondary schools students and teachers.

Let's bring covert action to the classroom.
